This lock is the Lockwood 001 Deadlock with timber frame strike. One of the most common Deadlocks on the market.

A deadlock is a security measure that is used to prevent unauthorized access to a property or area & is usually installed on doors at home or in other areas where security is a priority.

The main purpose of a deadlock is to provide an extra layer of security for the property or area it is installed on.

This Lockwood 001 Deadlock also comes in different styles, where you can have the inside knob free from the inside all the time or you can have a lever to make it easier to pull open the door for disabled people. This lock will fit on almost every front or back door in a house or unit.

This screen door lock is actually a deadlock. When you use the key in the barrel it will lock both sides of the lock.

This is a problem if you have a fire & need to escape, but at night time you are able to just snib this lock from the inside.

There is also an emergency escape style or version of this security screen door lock.

Most handle locks are either the push button or twist snib to lock from inside, but you can also get many different functionality handle locks like, key from both sides.

The key can lock both knobs at once making the handle lock into a deadlock.

These types of different function handle locks are all commercial grade & typically found on unit front doors, foyer doors to apartment block, school room doors & office buildings.

A drop bolt is a type of door lock that is typically used on sliding doors like this one above.

It consists of a metal bolt that is mounted to the top of the door frame and a metal plate that is mounted to the bottom of the door.

The bolt is released by using the key to unlock the bolt & pulling the bolt up, allowing the door to be opened.

Drop bolts are commonly used in commercial and industrial building, as they provide an extra layer of security for sliding doors or normal doors.

 

Garage Deadlock

A garage deadlock is a type of lock that is designed to provide extra security for a garage door.

It is typically installed on the outside of the door and is operated by a key that typically has better security in the barrel & a better type of key which is more secure.

These barrels can be upgraded to a high security barrel, making the lock almost unpickable & almost to the point of having to use an oxy set to cut the lock off, in other works a lot of time & effort to break into your garage via this door.

The deadlocks prevents the door from being opened from the outside, even if the handle or other locking mechanism is compromised.
